Can any dog, regardless of breed or size, use your services?

Yes, all dogs are welcome at our Pawlor, regardless of breed or size. Our skilled team is experienced in handling a variety of breeds, ensuring that your dog is in expert hands—from the tiniest Chihuahua to the largest Great Dane.

What steps should I take to make sure my dog is ready for their grooming session?

If your dog has a thick coat, we strongly recommend regular brushing prior to your appointment to avoid any de-matting services and associated charges.

Additionally, please ensure your dog has been properly walked before their appointment. For liability reasons, we are unable to take your dog outside to relieve itself once it is checked into the Pawlor.

How can I book an appointment, and what are your operating hours?

Booking an appointment is easy and convenient through our online booking system.

We are open Tuesday through Saturday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and offer flexible options to fit your busy lifestyle. We encourage booking in advance to secure your preferred time slot, and ensuring there is enough time for your pet’s grooming appointment.

Where can I find your pricing information?

For transparent and up-to-date pricing on all our grooming services, please refer to our comprehensive Dapper Dog Pricing Guide

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

We understand that plans can change, which is why we offer a flexible cancellation and rescheduling policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice so we can accommodate other clients on our waiting list.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment will incur a fee of 50% of the grooming service cost.

How do you ensure the safety and comfort of my dog?

Your dog’s safety and comfort are our top priorities. Our grooming facility is designed with safety in mind, aiming to create a stress-free environment.

We’ve thought of everything, from installing Groom Guards to prevent pups from accidentally slipping off our tables, to using noise-reducing Happy Hoodies to help calm your pup’s nerves. Also, our appointment-only approach prevents overcrowding in our Pawlor.

Are owners allowed to stay during the grooming appointment?

While we understand that some pets and their owners prefer to stay together, our facility is not designed to accommodate this request. We promise to take good care of your pet in your absence and will let you know as soon as we’re ready for you to pick them up, reuniting you with your furry family member.

What measures do you take for dogs with matting issues?

Dealing with matting is a delicate process that requires expertise and care. We assess each case individually and discuss the most humane and effective approach to tackle matting without causing stress or discomfort to your dog.

In some cases, we may require you to sign a release form before we proceed with your dog’s treatment, ensuring we have a clear understanding the best way to proceed for your dog. You can review our Matting Policy here.

What is your tipping procedure?

For those wishing to show appreciation for our stylists’ hard work, tips are graciously accepted in cash or via the stylist’s Venmo. This approach ensures that 100% of your tips go directly to the stylist who groomed your dog.

How often should my dog have their nails trimmed?

Nail trimming should occur every 2-3 weeks to maintain your dog’s comfort and prevent issues related to overgrown nails, such as pain or difficulty walking. Regular nail trimming also protects your floors and furniture from scratches.

Remember, at Dapper Dog Grooming Pawlor nail trims are 100% free between your dog’s regularly scheduled grooming sessions.

How often should my dog have a bath?

We recommend bathing your dog every 3-6 weeks, depending on their coat type and lifestyle. Regular baths not only keep your dog’s coat clean and healthy but also help prevent skin issues and reduce shedding.

How often should my dog have a haircut?

For most breeds, especially Doodles, with fast-growing or long hair, we advise a haircut every 4-6 weeks. This helps prevent matting, keeps your pet comfortable, and maintains their appearance.

How often should I brush my dog?

The frequency of brushing depends on your dog’s coat type:

Short-haired dogs may only need brushing once a week to remove loose hair and dirt.

Medium to long-haired dogs should be brushed several times a week to manage shedding and help prevent tangles and mats.

Dogs with thick undercoats (we’re talking to you Doodle owners!) benefit from daily brushing to help prevent matting and maintain a healthy coat.

Regular brushing not only keeps your dog’s coat in good condition but also provides an opportunity for bonding, accustoms them to brushing, and allows for the early detection of any skin issues or parasites like ticks.

Why does my dog have tear stains?

Tear stains in dogs are primarily caused by porphyrins, waste products from the breakdown of red blood cells, appearing as reddish-brown marks around the eyes. These stains are more visible on light-colored fur and may be attributed to various factors, including genetics, diet, or health issues.

Why does my dog lick and chew at their paws?

Dogs lick and chew their paws for several reasons, including allergies, dry skin, anxiety, the presence of irritants, or a response to pain. If your dog persistently licks or chews their paws, it’s important to consult a veterinarian to rule out health issues.

If you or your vet suspect your dog has allergies, please let us know so we can suggest using hypoallergenic products during their bathing treatment for your dog’s comfort.
